The Long Blue Line Relief fund–aka- “the VIC Fund” (Victory in Crisis) wants to say THANK YOU! to all of you that have supported this fund.

On January 30, 2013, the Relief Fund was contacted by OceanFirst Foundation and donated a grant of $25,000.  Also, on December 7th, the Relief Fund was contacted by the Non-Profit Group, Robin Hood Foundation and they donated $30,000 to the Long Blue Line Disaster Relief Fund.    A “Rockin’ For Relief” Fundraiser, presented by the Manasquan Elks and the Long Blue Line V.I.C. Fund held January 12, 2013 raised over $15,000.  And many other donations are coming in everyday.

The Fund has now raised over $140,000 as of February 6, 2013. A group of wonderful and caring guidance counselors from each school in the Manasquan High School Sending District led by Sue Tellone and Denise Wegemen have met and assisted us in the distribution of most of these donations. Thus far the Fund has issued checks varying in amounts totaling $138,000 to 74 families that encompass the following districts and towns:

Avon
Belmar
Lake Como
Spring Lake Heights
Manasquan
Brielle

With these Checks , these families have started to recover and it helps remind everyone that the power of teamwork and commitment is what our community is made of.  Check out our Thank You Page to see what your donations have done for these families.  Our goal is to get these families back on a normal path so our students can stay on their path of academic excellence.  The guidance counselors continue to assess the needs of our students and advise us where to direct more funding.

The Relief Fund is still attempting to reach so many.  Our efforts will continue and those who still need assistance will be helped as funding becomes available.

Thank you!
